Education WAÂ introduces Laburnum Primary School in Blackburn, for all your education and learning needs.
Established in 1964 on a large site bordering the environmentally significant Blacks Walk, Laburnum is the largest Primary School in the Whitehorse Network. With an average prep intake of 120 students over the past four years, Laburnum is also one of the fastest growing schools in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.
Subsequent to this growth, the facilities at Laburnum have improved considerably over the past five years, including the installation of eight new portable classrooms, the refurbishment of the Performing Arts Centre, extensive improvements to the school’s gardens, the building of a second prep playground area, and the erection of three large shade structures over targeted play areas.
Laburnum has a valued reputation for offering high standards of excellence in education - as evidenced by the level of parent satisfaction which continues to reflect a very positive parent attitude towards the school. Laburnum both enjoys and very much appreciates this high level of community satisfaction and support, with parental involvement and participation being encouraged across all aspects of our school program.
It is this very real sense of community that makes Laburnum an excellent school for students, parents and teachers alike.
Welcome to Laburnum Primary School one of the popular educators in your Blackburn area. Our aim is help you in your learning journey.
We endeavour to celebrate each other's uniqueness by providing opportunity for all and to develop a culture that identifies that the journey towards excellence is often paved with trial and error, risk taking, learning from mistakes, flexibility and adaptability. We believe that encouraging students to take ownership of the learning is critical in achieving the best learning outcomes and that implicit in this concept is that students learn their own areas of strength and areas of development, through useful and explicit feedback.
